Dear Vargas Families,

What a week! As we wrap up our incredible Literacy Week, don't forget that today is the final sprint for the Readathon. We've seen some amazing reading across all grades, and we can't wait to see which classrooms snag that shaved ice party! A huge thank you to everyone who made Family Reading Night so special—seeing our community come together over books (and tacos!) was the highlight of the week. Let's finish strong, get those minutes logged, and start looking forward to the International Fair coming up in April!

📖 Readathon: Last Day!

Today is the last day of the Readathon! Be sure your student logs all their minutes earned from reading outside class time (either electronically or via paper form). Paper forms are due to the office on Monday. 

• 🍕 If your student reaches their reading goal minutes, they will be entered in a raffle to win prizes such as boba, Pizza My Heart, Baskin Robbins, Wagon Wheel BBQ gift cards, and more.

• 🍦 If your student reaches the bonus minutes goal, they will earn a voucher for ice cream at Baskin Robbins.

• 🍧 The classroom with the most minutes read in each grade will win a shaved ice party!

Thanks to all the teachers and staff who read at Family Reading Night, all the helpers who helped throughout the evening, and for all who attended. Check out some of the photos in the Family Reading Night photo album! We hope you enjoyed it, don’t forget to log those Reading Night minutes.

🌍 Save the Date for International Fair (Thursday April 16th, 2026)

The International Fair is a time for everyone to shine by sharing favorite foods, games, songs, dances, art, and traditions! The more cultures we represent, the richer and more fun this experience becomes. There will be a sign up sent out to represent a country, bring a potluck dish or lend a helping hand. Stay tuned!

🎨 Volunteer at the Art Show

Ms. June looking for volunteers to help with setting up for the art show on March 26!

At the end of the school year, we hang a school-wide showcase of student artwork from every participant in the program. As you can imagine, that's a lot of artwork. To accomplish this goal, we rely on volunteers to help with installing the show.

📖 Readathon: ¡Último día!

¡Hoy es el último día del Readathon! Asegúrese de que su estudiante registre todos los minutos ganados leyendo fuera del horario de clases (ya sea de forma electrónica o mediante el formulario impreso). Los formularios en papel deben entregarse en la oficina el lunes.

Se enviará un formulario de registro para representar a un país, traer un platillo para compartir o echar una mano. ¡Manténganse al tanto!

🎨 Voluntarios para la Exposición de Arte

¡La Sra. June busca voluntarios para ayudar con la instalación de la exposición de arte el 26 de marzo!

Al final del año escolar, presentamos una exhibición de toda la escuela con obras de arte de cada participante del programa. Como se imaginarán, ¡son muchísimas obras de arte! Para lograr este objetivo, dependemos de voluntarios para ayudar con la instalación.
