Dear Golden Owl Families,

What a special day Friday was! Seeing our Vargas students, families, and staff come together, cheering each other on and celebrating our school community, was truly heartwarming.

As our largest annual fundraiser, the Walkathon plays an important role in supporting our school and creating meaningful experiences for our students. Your generous contributions help fund Classroom Supplies, School Field trips, Science Night, PTA Assemblies, Movie Night, International Festival, graduations and promotions and so much more. Please join a PTA Association meeting to see how the funds are being spent.

We’re so grateful for your support and for helping make these experiences possible for every Vargas student.

We’re nearly 75% of the way to our Walkathon goal — we’re in the final stretch!

🎉 Every donation makes a difference, so let’s keep the momentum going!

💰 Double Your Impact with Employer Matching!

Check to see if your employer offers a charitable donation matching program. If you submit a donation match, please send the verification to fundraising@treasurer.org so your student and class can receive double credit!

📅 Fundraiser Extended Through Monday, October 12

Since there is no school on Thursday or Friday, we’re extending the Walkathon fundraiser through Monday, October 12. There’s still time to get those last-minute donations in!

Ask your friends and family to support your student. Every donation counts — even $1 can make a difference!

To set up your student’s pledge page, please add them here:

Then share the link with friends and family!

For larger donations over $100, please consider paying by check or cash to help us avoid credit card processing fees. Cash and checks can be dropped off at the front office. Please include a note with your student’s name. Checks should be payable to “Jose Antonio Vargas PTA.”

🏆 Don’t Forget About the Class Prizes!

There are several ways for students and classes to win:

• Most money raised: Jamba Juice voucher + extra recess

• Most laps walked: A special prize for our top walkers

• Highest class participation: Shave ice party! 🍧

Every donation matters, and every student can help their class win!

Thank you for your incredible generosity and for helping make Vargas such a wonderful community.  Let’s finish strong!

With gratitude,

Jose Antonio Vargas PTA
