Promote zero waste at the school. Pursue SPPS District funding to run a pilot program for zero waste in the classroom and in school related activities. Help families pursue zero waste at home.

Sustainability Coordinator / Committee Chair Signed Up: 1 / 1

The Sustainability Coordinator works with other committees to help all school events be as close to zero waste as possible. Includes providing compostable products and recycling and compost collection bins for events. Advanced planning of event food and activities helps reduce waste and reinforces the zero-waste and sustainability curriculum students learn in school.

Zero-Waste Recycling Station Monitor Signed Up: 0 / 2

Parents that are willing to monitor recycling stations and help students and parents sort items into the proper bin. All food, soiled-paper, napkins, paper towels, and compostable products in the green compost bin. All recyclables (paper, tin, aluminum, plastic in the blue recycling bin. Foil lined wrappers and clean and dry plastic bags will go into the zero-waste recycling bins. When in doubt ask the Sustainability Coordinator.
