Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Our Schools DC Leadership Committee invite District residents to participate in public engagement forums on the D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) Chancellor search.
“As we continue to build on our progress at DCPS, these public engagement events are an opportunity for the Our Schools DC Leadership Committee to hear directly from the community,” said Mayor Bowser. “Providing various ways to participate allows students, parents, and community members to have a useful dialogue with the Our Schools DC Leadership Committee and will facilitate the selection of our next chancellor.”
At this community forum refreshments will be provided and childcare will be available. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to request translation services.
Following the forums, the Executive Office of the Mayor will compile community priorities to share with residents and the Mayor, which will inform the chancellor selection and future strategic planning. There will be additional engagement activities in the coming months, including meetings with the DCPS Parent, Teacher, and Student Cabinets.
In addition, the committee will also host a virtual town hall via Facebook Live and is accepting the public’s input through an online survey at the Our Schools Engagement Page.
These meetings are an opportunity for community members to directly participate with the search process and share their input on what priorities should be set when selecting the next DCPS Chancellor.
