Dear JP Parents,
We hope you are having a restful spring break. This communication is a follow-up to the email sent by Dr. Carol Kelley, Superintendent of Princeton Public Schools (PPS), on Tuesday March 28, 2023, that announced a pause on moving any students between the elementary schools for the next school year.
In that email, Dr. Kelley further stated that PPS will partner with its school community on how to best move forward with long-range planning for 2024-2025 and beyond, and that she and her team will be hosting community meetings throughout the spring to share ideas and solicit feedback about possible future enrollment solutions.
We currently anticipate that the first community meeting will be hosted on or around April 11. Please be on the lookout for the announcement of the confirmed date, time, and location.
Your attendance and participation in that meeting, as well as in the subsequent ones, will be the best opportunity for you not only to hear the concerns, expectations, and overall views of parents whose children are attending other schools in the district, but for you to share yours with these parents and the representatives of PPS.
There is a variety of available information that may help you better understand the current state of enrollment, including the district’s Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program that is offered exclusively at Community Park School, and other factors that will affect the future of the PPS district. We have included links to a few key documents that you may want to review ahead of the district’s community meetings.
