Reminder: Summer Reading Program Sign-Up Starts Today for Students and Adults!

Our public library needs us.   PPL's funding is driven in part by statistics of patron connections.  Our families have depended upon their massive support of ebooks (and audiobooks) which our budgets can not match.  Please encourage our children to sign up for the children's summer reading program beginning on June 15th. Also, consider signing up for the adult summer reading program beginning on June 15th, as well.

The Princeton Public Schools librarians have created a resource list of Black Voices and Anti-racist Literature.   It is NOT all inclusive but is a starting point.   On the list you will see a denotation (‡) for books that are 'Community Reads' - a brain child of the PHS English teachers- wherein a text per grade level at PHS, one wherein a text for grades 3-5 have been chosen for community book group discussions to be held (virtually) over the summer (details forthcoming).  The book chosen for grades 3-5 is Rita Williams-Garcia's Clayton Bird Goes Underground.   If you have a Princeton Public Library card, the book is available for simultaneous use in ebook and audiobook versions on the Hoopla platform.   (If you don't have a card, you can register on PPL's website for a card).

Thank you and HAPPY READING!!!

“Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him." Maya Angelou
