Request for Extension of the Masking Mandate for New Jersey Schools
Mon, Jan 10 9:25pm

Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

Please be informed that shortly after I sent out my communication below, Governor Murphy has announced during his coronavarus briefing  that "the masking mandate in schools and daycares will continue at least for the foreseeable future". For your convenience, I have attached a hyperlink to the video of his briefing. His remark about the extension of the masking mandate occurs at about 8:45 minutes.

Thank you for your attention and stay all safe! And don't forget to keep up with your good work of filling every morning the Crisis Go covid form! We are all in this together!

Dear Parents, Teachers and Staff,

First and foremost, on behalf of the Parents Teachers Organization of Johnson Park, I would like to wish you and your family a New Year 2022 filled with health, resilience, joy and love.

This communication is to invite you to please consult the attached letter that was emailed yesterday by the PPS Board of Education to Gov. Murphy, Senator-elect Andrew Zwicker, Asm. Roy Freiman and Asw. Sadaf Jaffer, voicing serious concerns about the expiration of the state masking mandate for its New Jersey schools that will take place tomorrow, January 11, 2022.

The PPS Board of Education is asking worried parents to email the representatives as well. Their contact information is enclosed below for your convenience. Superintendent Kelley has also expressed great concerns regarding the impact of this expiration on PPS's ability to safely educate students in-person. Timing is urgent as the mask mandate expires tomorrow, January 11.

Thank you for your diligent attention to this urgent matter.

Best regards,

Kathleen Brennan
