Dear Parents,

Next week the PTO will host the second edition of the JP Penguin Patch Holiday Market! Students had such a wonderful time last year shopping for gifts to give to their loved ones (who knew they would find pleasure in not just receiving gifts, but also in giving them...), that we did not hesitate to repeat the experience again this year. Who knows, it may become a holiday tradition!

Tomorrow, your children will come back home with a flyer about the holiday market and an envelope to include money and with the option for you to indicate who will be on your child's "nice list" (we hope you will put your name first!). And next Monday, we will let you know when the classroom of your child will be scheduled to come to the market (each classroom will first visit the market to look at what is being offered, and then will come back so students can purchase the items they will have pre-selected). Please do not send the envelope to school until you know the date your child will purchase his/her gifts.

This year, the holiday market will be a 3-day event that will run from Tuesday December 12 to Thursday December 14, with an evening shopping opportunity for parents on Wednesday December 13. 

From our first experience with the holiday market last year, it was quickly clear to us that it success did not just rest on the selection of gifts, or the support of the JP staff and teachers. It was hugely dependent on the volunteers who helped students with the selection of their gifts, the identification and calculation of the various prices, the collection of money, the replenishing of the merchandise on the tables...

So, if you have a few hours to give to help with the holiday market and contribute to another successful edition, we would be most grateful if you would complete the sign-up sheet below. We really need your assistance to make this PTO initiative a pleasurable experience for all!
