JP Book Fair Opens Today!
Mon, Apr 22 8:39am

It is that time of year again! Johnson Park’s Book Fair is this week: April 22-26, 2024.

Johnson Park’s Book Fair is a literacy event that brings to school the books kids want to read. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level.

Today and tomorrow, students will come in with their classes and—with help from teachers, aides, and book fair volunteers—fill out a wish list to bring home. We encourage you to look at the wish list with them and then send in money for the books you feel comfortable with them purchasing. The wish list your child brings home includes a space to donate to the teachers’ wish list for the class, and to allow for volunteers to help with appropriate substitutions should a title be out of stock. Any money remaining will be donated directly to the Johnson Park library.

We take cash or check, and digital payments through Scholastic eWallet. The eWallet is a great option for friends and relatives who want to donate to your child's list, as well as for young kids you don't want to send with cash. Details here: bit.ly/JohnsonParkBookFair

Class shopping days will be on Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 and 25. On April 24 we’ll hold a special family event from 4 to 6 pm if you’d like to come in and shop with your child. It will include special guest readers and the chance to hear what stories are sparking your child’s imagination!

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to thaispcarter@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at the Book Fair!
