Hello Kaiser Elementary Families.
Each day that we would otherwise be in school, but are out as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus, I will be reaching out to you with a Konstella message. I will also be recording a YouTube Video for Kaiser students. Here’s the link to today’s video and a link to a log of past videos and family messages.
Tomorrow (Thursday) morning, from 8 AM - 12 PM, and all Monday and Thursday mornings that the “shelter in place” order continues, free “grab and go” food will be available at a number of OUSD schools. The list and more info is here.
I had a rich conversation on Zoom with many of our PTA-paid staff today. I want to appreciate our PTA Board (who met via Zoom last night) and all Kaiser families who so generously support our PTA. This staff will continue to be paid while school is out, and they will continue to offer service.
- Academic Mentors: Oscar and Elizabeth are both available for additional support via Zoom, telephone, or other ways. If you would like additional support for your child, let your teacher know.
- Art. Ms. Virtue put together this rich list of ideas and will soon be doing some art “gatherings” on Zoom.
- Music. Our music teachers are putting together resources and video that will be coming to you soon.
In addition to all that you are doing to care for your kids, please be sure to take good care of yourselves, too. (I find this much easier to say than do!) These are stressful times, so please stay mindful of your physical and mental health, nutrition, hydration, and sleep. In that spirit, here’s a link to a free 30-day on-line yoga series.
Talk to you tomorrow.
