Hello Kaiser Families:
Kaiser’s Orff music teacher has put together a treasure trove of music resources and videos for our kids. Check it out! I recommend weaving these into your children’s daily schedule.
For “Throwback Thursday” today's video for Kaiser kids is a repost of a video I recorded in July 2016. My wife, Trish, and I were at the end of a year of travel. I had recently been chosen by Kaiser’s principal selection committee to lead our school. We were in Medellin, Colombia (one of my favorite cities in the world!). Here’s a link to all family communications and videos during this time school is closed. Please email me at email@example.com if your child has a fun project, a book recommendation, or even a joke they want me to share in upcoming videos.
Oscar Campos sends a “hello” to all students and families and suggested that I pass on this fun spoof on the song “You’ll Be Back” from Hamilton.
Crayola has a rich “at home learning” page and will be doing a parent and educator webinar Tuesday.
Last night Governor Newsom signed an executive order to suspend end of year testing. No SBAC this year. More information is here.
We are currently working on a “wellness tracker” to make sure that we are meeting the technology needs of ALL of our students and to see if there is any other way that we can support our families. Please let your teacher know (or reach out to me directly) if you have a need.
Thanks to the families who showed their love to our custodians by chipping in with a $25 Caviar certificate! We had Day 2 of a yummy lunches. (Highly recommended: Brenda’s fried chicken w/ mac & cheese & collard greens as a side + beignets!) It is not too late to treat Alonzo and Tremaine to lunch. From this link, you can send a gift certificate (max $25 per family, please) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hang in there friends! Talk to you tomorrow.
