Hello Kaiser Elementary Families:
I hope that you and your families are well. In our weekly staff meeting on Wednesday we brainstormed how we can best connect our kids to the fabulous resources our music and art teachers are making available. They are all linked to our Kaiser Family Resource page, and in each of my next several messages to you, I will highlight one teacher. As we build our capacity with Google Classroom and other distance learning tools, our enrichment teachers will also be able to add content to these virtual classrooms.
Ms. Diana, Kaiser’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade Orff music teacher, has been making engaging videos for her students, and kids of all grades can check them out. She has put together a great “showcase” of this work. She is also hosting a drop in music time on Zoom Monday. Details below. I hope you can check it out!
Topic: Ms. Diana's drop in music time!

We continue to see significant need in our community, but also have hope with the significant amount of giving. There are two local efforts I want to highlight:
Oakland COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund. This is a partnership with OUSD and Oakland Education Fund. If your family has an urgent financial need, please reach out to me to connect you and I can connect you. If you are able to donate, please do so here.
Stimulus Pledge Drive. Undocumented families will receive no federal assistance, such as stimulus checks or unemployment benefits, during the COVID-19 crisis. An Oakland educator has started this fund to help undocumented families in OUSD. I have donated and I encourage all in the Kaiser community who are able to join in as well. Please share this link widely: https://stimuluspledge.org/ If your family is undocumented and could use this support, you can safely reach out to me to connect you.
I miss you all!
