Hello Kaiser Families:
I just sent a message with detailed info about registration, but I forgot to put a call out for volunteers. If you are able to help with one or more of the registration days, please email Guadalupe.Padilla@ousd.org or call school at 510-549-4900.
Meanwhile, I am excited to welcome Jourdan Oliver to the Kaiser family. Our hiring committee was unanimous (again!) in making her our first choice. I asked her to write an intro, which I am copying below.
Hi Kaiser Community,
Jourdan here. I am very excited to meet you all in the coming weeks. I will be working as the STIP Substitute teacher, so I am here to help and support you all; please don’t hesitate to let me know how I can be of help to you and the kiddo’s.
I am currently a graduate student at Saint Mary’s College studying counseling and hope to become a school psychologist and a marriage family therapist when my program is done. For the last 4 years I have worked in a plaintiff’s law firm. Although I have treasured my experience there, I can’t wait to get back to working with children. I grew up in Los Angeles and moved to the Bay Area 4 years ago. I have enjoyed building a community of friends up here, and now they feel like family. Growing up, theater was my life. If you catch me around school singing a song or dancing, please join in. Working out and being active is food to my soul, cycling, kickboxing, and taking zumba classes is where can find me during my time off.
Creating a community of support and communication is what I enjoy most in life, and I can’t wait to get to know you all. See you in August!
Jourdan will be helping out at all registration times, so please join me in welcoming her!
