Principal’s Run Club!

This Fall, Kaiser Elementary principal, Dennis Guikema, will be leading a special fun and healthy project.   In September and October, every Wednesday at lunch recess, students may join in “Principal’s Run Club”.  This is a non-competitive, voluntary and fun activity that will happen on the “upper field” playground during the regular noon recess time (for both upper and lower grades).

Students who participate should wear comfortable active clothing and sturdy shoes.   There is no need to sign-up, and adult family members are welcome to join! Those who are in Running for a Better Oakland (RBO) can wear their RBO shirts on Wednesdays if they like.

Running for a Better Oakland, Fall Season

Principal’s Run Club is timed to complement Running for a Better Oakland (RBO)’s Fall season.   (Although any child may participate in just one and not the other.)

RBO is an outstanding program with caring volunteers, open to youth from kindergarten to 12th grade.   The RBO Fall season is most Saturdays in September and October, beginning September 7. Many Kaiser families have participated in the past.   The season not only includes practices at Laney College, but also a fun 5 km event in late October. $30 for the whole season includes practices, event entry fee, RBO t-shirt, and more.    Registration is required and is open now. You can register and find out more information at www.rboakland.org.
