Below is a transcript of the robo-call message sent this evening....

Hello Kaiser Elementary Families:

This is your principal, Dennis Guikema, with an important two-part announcement: an update about safety precautions in light of the coronavirus, and information about the enrollment process for the 2020-21 school year.

School will remain open, however we are taking additional precautions.   Any field trips scheduled between now and Spring Break will be postponed or canceled.    We are postponing next week’s assembly and 5th grade play evening performance.

In our efforts to be extra vigilant about keeping a clean environment, we welcome donations of disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer.   You can leave these in our office.

I want to, again, appreciate our custodial team, all Kaiser teachers and staff, and family volunteers for maintaining a safe and clean environment.  Thanks to all of our families for reminding our children to wash hands, sneeze into their elbows, and follow other hygiene best practices. I want to encourage everyone to use our best Socio-Emotional Learning tools as we talk with our kids about this, reminding them that they are safe while keeping them informed in an age appropriate way.

On a separate note, our 5th grade families, and any other families who completed the enrollment process by February 7 should have received a message via SchoolMint of your placement for next year.    I am holding open door office hours tomorrow, Friday, from 2 - 5 PM, for any families who would like to talk or have questions about enrollment, their school assignment or next year’s plans with Sankofa United.   No appointment necessary. Please just come by anytime between 2 - 5 tomorrow.

Have a nice night.
