Kaiser Elementary

Hello Kaiser Elementary Families:

I hope that all of you had a joyful time with your family over this week's break.   As we reflect on all the things we are grateful for, I want to share a special appreciation to Kaiser neighbors, Gordan and Sue Piper, and a small army of volunteers they recruited to do fire safety work adjacent to the Kaiser Elementary campus.

As last week's news and smoke reminded us, fire danger in California is real.   And as you, know, the major "Oakland Hills Fires" of October 1991 took the lives of 25 people and destroyed thousands of homes .

Recently these volunteers removed 45 cubic yards of highly flammable "french broom" from land adjacent to our school.   Here is a link to some pictures of their work.    Please joining me in saying "thanks!"
