A New Year, New Executive Board Members for PTO
Did your student have fun at Movie Night? Do you want to see more school-wide events for the family to enjoy? Do you have an idea to help teachers? Do you see a need on the Monte Vista campus that should be addressed? Would you like to be more involved in your kids' lives and know what's happening at school before it happens? This is the chance to let your voice be heard and make a difference in the Mountain Lion community by becoming a member of the PTO Executive Board. Due to students moving on to middle school and board members completing their service, we currently have openings to fill for President, Vice-President and Treasurer.
After a successful year of navigating the new "normal" and once again hosting activities "in-person", the Mountain Lions are looking to build upon the traditions we've come back to and we need You! The PTO Board will continue to play a crucial role in making these Events -big and small, schoolwide and behind-the-scenes continue to happen for our Monte Vista staff, students and families. And our Board needs creative and dedicated people to help lead the way.
Parents like YOU who are willing to invest the time to provide leadership and guidance for our PTO will not only be the cornerstone for our school community, but also have fun along the way by creating an interactive environment for your students and a support system for our staff. You can introduce new ideas and continue to help our previous activities thrive from Family Dinner Nights and "Take-Out Tuesdays" to Carnival and Movie Nights, the Bookfair, Student Store, Reading Wall, WatchDOGS and the list goes on...
The 2022-2023 Board will consist of 8 positions, with an incoming and an outgoing counterpart. There are 2 Co-Presidents, 2 Co-Vice-Presidents, 2 Co-Treasurers and 2 Co-Secretaries. Each year, the outgoing members vacate their positions and incoming members are elected to fill those positions. It's the perfect checks-and-balance, plus it is our hope that by "partnering up" we can help alleviate stress for each other and carry out tasks together. Each role is vital to your student because it is what makes their time at Monte Vista more than school, but an experience to treasure. Which is why YOUR school community needs YOU!
