恭喜发财 Gōngxǐ fācái! 恭喜發財 Gung Hay Fat Choy! Chúc mừng năm mới!
Felice nuovo anno Lunare! Happy Lunar New Year!
Please join US to Celebrate!
Thursday, January 31st 10-11am - Dogpatch campus
Friday, February 1st 8:45-9:30am - Fell St. campus
Parents are always welcome to attend school celebrations. Each campus will have storytelling about the history and practices of this special holiday, followed by a parade complete with drums, dragons, and lions. If you attended last year's parade, you'll know how much FUN it was for all the kids and this year there will be additional surprises! Please RSVP for each campus for space planning (as a spectator or as a parent volunteer for your classroom). Grazie mille!
Red is considered a very lucky color on this day. Please feel free to send your kids in red, any cultural outfit you have as this is considered a time of reunion and celebration of all cultures, or very bright clothes.
Also San Francisco's annual Southwest mini procession and Parade will take place on Saturday, February 2nd 10-11am. This is the preparation parade for the February 23rd parade, named one of the top ten Parades in the world and one of the few remaining night illuminated Parades in North America as well as the biggest parade celebrating the lunar new year outside of Asia. If anyone is interested in attending as a group, please contact Jessica Vo at email@example.com!
