Dear La Scuola Community, 

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) will hold a public hearing on Friday, May 31 to solicit public input on our proposed changes to the white zone hours in front of the church next to the San Carlos building on South Van Ness. We’d love our community members to join virtually to show support.

In collaboration with the Church Parish and in light of upcoming construction of our beautiful new Mission Campus building, the school has requested that the enforced white zone hours be extended to 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday to support school pick up and drop off next year and beyond. While planning is still underway and will be shared with the community as we get closer to the start of the year, extending the times will provide some extra options for daily campus operations. In addition, we believe this change may lighten traffic on 18th Street and at the very busy intersection of 18th Street and South Van Ness. The initiative would not reduce any of the parking available given the white zone already exists so there is only upside.
