This holiday season, the Parents Association is proud to continue our community service project: Una Buona Azione/One Good Action. Working with Hamilton Families--a nonprofit focused on ending family homelessness in San Francisco--each class will help one family as they transition out of a shelter into permanent housing, by providing household necessities from plates and cups to bedding. (Please see the attached flyer provided by the organization.)
Hopefully the project will spark discussions with our children about the role we can play helping others. The school will also find ways to incorporate the issues of helping and community service in age-appropriate discussions and activities in the classroom.
If your family would like to be involved, please sign up in the attached spreadsheet. If you’d like to donate money instead, please connect with your room parents. We will direct any collected funds to cover items not fulfilled.
- Items collected November 29 at both elementary and preschool campuses
- Helpers needed to retrieve items from cars at Fell Street during drop off
- Helpers needed for the November 30 delivery to the organization

This is our third year helping homeless families in San Francisco. Should you have any questions, please contact your room parent, or Tarrah Pollaro (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thanks so much, and here’s to a wonderful end of 2018!
