“It kind of looks… happy now!”

Wow. Today was so incredibly special.
More than 100 of you showed up, hauling fabric and ribbons and staplers and coffee and orange juice and sesame balls and dumplings....and then got to work.

If you were there, you know how much it meant to our kids, because they kept yelling it and singing it and coming by in awe, saying what a beautiful job we were doing, transforming a sad and icky scene into something MAGICAL.

If we weren't already misty eyed, the 5th graders spilled out in the yard to rehearse graduation, serenading us with "Rainbow Connection" and "It's a Wonderful World." The fourth graders showed up with orange juice (on ice!) right at the moment our tanks were low. Parents from Argonne and Alamo both showed up with offerings of support. Argonne donated all the woven leis parents had worked on for their kinder graduation ceremony. They are woven into our flowers and rainbows now, and one is around the neck of our dolphin (do dolphins have necks??).

I don't have much more to say that the pictures below don't say for themselves, so just: leftover fabric and loaned tools are all out on the yard on tables, pick 'em up after school. Then the fabric will be donated (so please help yourself!).  And here is a link to the full set of pictures. Add if you have em!

Also, a meeting for all the official stuff is in the works. Mr. K is just making sure ALL the people (District reps, police, SFFD, etc) can be there, so look out for that announcement.

And please come see the finished product!! I didn't include final pics bc...you gotta see it in person.

THANK YOU!!!
