The Read-a-thon is almost finished, but there's still time to get in some final reading time and donations!
Thanks to you, we've raised over $10,000 so far, but we're still shy of our final goal of $30,000! You can collect and manage pledges online through your GiveButter page, or fill out your pledge form and collect cash, checks, or paypal donations!
Did you lose your form? Copies are available in the school library, or you can download and print the packet at home here.
Important Dates:
Monday, April 27: Final day of the read-a-thon! Tuesday, April 28 - Friday, May 1: Collect pledges/donations and turn in reading forms! Students can return completed forms to their classroom teacher or to the Read-a-thon table at morning drop-off. (5th graders at Nature Bridge have until Monday, May 5th).
This year's prizes:
Everyone who participates: A blue color-changing Lafayette pencil and a raffle entry to win an XL Claude stuffie
The top readers and fundraisers:
- Signed copy of Claude
- Claude stuffie from the Academy of Sciences
- Read-a-thon winner t-shirt
- Lunch with the author Emma Bland Smith (for grades 3-5)
- A class party for the rooms with the highest total participation
Visiting Author: After the read-a-thon, we’ll celebrate with an assembly from our guest author Emma Bland Smith, on Friday, May 15th, 2026.

Teacher Appreciation Week is right around the corner, and we’re excited to once again come together as a community to show our Lafayette teachers and staff some love.
As in years past, we’ll be stocking the teachers’ lounge with breakfast treats Monday through Thursday—and wrapping up the week with a catered lunch on Friday.

Items needed: (Items should be dropped off in the teachers’ lounge at 7:30 AM on your selected day.)
- Pastries (nut-free, with some vegan options)
- Breakfast bites (gluten-free and vegan options appreciated)
- Pre-cut fruit
- Coffee / tea
- Juice
- Reminder Please keep in mind that Lafayette is a nut free campus. All pastries should be NUT FREE.

At 7:30am on May 6th, families can meet up with a staff person and other community members to walk and/or bike to school. Meet at the following cross streets:

In order to include events up until the end of the year, the books will not be completed until after the school year ends, but will be delivered by the end of July.

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE FAMILIES:
5th grade parents are also given the option to purchase "Recognition Ads" for their child which will print in every single yearbook (custom pages only print in individual books).
