Lafayette's 2025 Halloween Celebrations!
|
It's almost time for our special Halloween celebration & we need your help to continue this fun tradition! Please sign up for a shift (or two), if you can volunteer on Halloween (10/31). Light refreshments will be provided.
Each classroom will visit the festival for games and activities throughout the day (8:00am - 2:00pm). We will provide popcorn and goodie bags for all students. There will be a break between 10:00am - 11:00am for the school-wide parade.
All families are welcome to attend and wear a costume, but please don't wear anything scary or offensive.

School Musical Auditions!
|
Welcome to another year of the fabulous Lafayette Elementary School musical! This year's production is WEST SIDE STORY and performances are April 15, 16, and 17th, 2026.
If your child would like to participate in this year's musical, please fill out this form.
Auditions are MANDATORY for students in 2nd grade and above who wish to participate.
Signing up via this form is MANDATORY for Kindergarten and 1st grade students who wish to participate, but they do not need to audition.
Audition schedule:
4th and 5th Grade - Monday November 10, 12:50 - 3 pm. 2nd and 3rd Grade - Wednesday November 12, 12:50 - 3 pm. Call backs (if needed) - Friday November 14, 12:50 - 2 pm.
Audition location: TBD.
Roles will be posted on Friday, November 21 after school on the door of the Auditorium.
To audition, each student must prepare a 30-second, a capella song for our team of directors. If they are interested in a particular role, their song choice should reflect that. This year's show will feature lots of dancing, so we are asking those interested to also perform the first 35 seconds or so of this choreography (at slow tempo is fine!).
After their audition, students will be brought back to their after school program, if applicable, or released to parents. The book fair and teacher conferences will also be taking place on those afternoons.
Thanks very much - we can't wait to see what the kids have to show us! Ben Bleiman & Hallie Albert, directors

This Year's School Movie Night will [ACTUALLY] be...
|
After a deadly earthquake destroys his home in Peruvian rainforest, a young bear (Ben Whishaw) makes his way to England in search of a new home. The bear, dubbed "Paddington" for the london train station, finds shelter with the family of Henry (Hugh Bonneville) and Mary Brown (Sally Hawkins). Although Paddington's amazement at urban living soon endears him to the Browns, someone else has her eye on him: Taxidermist Millicent Clyde (Nicole Kidman) has designs on the rare bear and his hide. Watch the official trailer here. This film is rated PG.
