I hope everyone's week was as good as possible. My children's enthusiasm for Mom School(TM) lasted about two days before they realized they preferred staying inside wearing PJs all day and fighting endlessly about who gets to be Player 1 during video game time. Grateful that the strike is over for many many reasons, not least of which is no longer having to pretend that I'm good at 3rd grade math.


Last week was such a tangible, concrete demonstration of how supportive this community is. In spite of all of the week's challenges, it felt so good to be so connected with each other. While the PTA knows you have done SO much work to to show up for our school, the reality of public school funding is: we need your help again.


We are three weeks away from Lafayette's annual fundraiser gala. This week, the PTA is focusing on recruiting families to create Count-Me-In Parties to offer at auction. CMI parties are community-building ticketed events or experiences hosted and funded by families to raise money for our school. You pick the theme, price and capacity, and the proceeds go towards paying for programs at Lafayette that would otherwise be impacted by budget cuts.

There is no school on Monday and Tuesday this week, so I will see you on the yard on Wednesday!
