Well hello again, school year. I see you're back!
Like yours I'm sure, my house is filled with lots of big feelings today: excitement to see our school friends again and some nerves about making new friends, curiosity about what the new school year will bring and reluctance to leave the summer behind. Whether your students are experiencing eagerness or anxiousness or a little bit of both, I hope the transition into the new school year tomorrow is as smooth as possible for all of you.
School Schedule Refresher
• There is NO Stop, Drop and Go tomorrow (August 18)
• Yard and cafeteria open at 7:30 a.m.
• School announcements begin at 7:50 a.m.
• Kindergarten dismissal is at 1:55 p.m. (12:40 on Wednesdays)
• 1st - 5th dismissal is at 2:05 p.m. (12:50 on Wednesdays)

Sign up on Homeroom (or, for Mandarin, directly with Qiao Ji Mandarin) for afterschool classes and programs. There are many great classes being offered this year, as well as sliding scale and discounted rates for most programs available to families who need them. (Details on discounts can be found here.) Calling All Multi-Lingual Community Members!

Because we want to ensure that the PTA is accessible to all of our families here at Lafayette, we want to ensure that translations made to key documents are accurate and understandable. We are looking for members of our community who can read and write in another language to proofread various translated documents to ensure their accuracy.
