Hello Lafayette community,
What an amazing week we've had!
|
The new play structure is here!
|
The ribbon cutting for the playground was such a fun experience and seeing the kindergarteners enjoy the slide for the first time, high-fiving the fire chief along the way, was a sweet sight to see. Many thanks to Erin Feher Montoya for helping to organize the event and to our teachers for not only advocating for a safe and quick rebuild, but for also having their students create the paper chains with personalized messages about why the play structure is so important to them. Thank you also to Supervisor Connie Chan, Superintendent Dr. Maria Su and SFUSD district architect Simon Reyes. To watch the news story on our play structure's ribbon cutting, click here.

The Night Market was a huge success!
|
In spite of the threat of rain Wednesday morning, the skies seemed to clear just in time for the Night Market. Such a fun celebration of culture, crafting and cuisine. Many thanks to our Multicultural Committee co-chairs, Le Klein and Jessica Eting, for organizing such a wonderful community event, and to all of the volunteers who made it possible! Thank you also to Lafayette mom Robin Weir for taking such gorgeous photos of the event. It was truly impossible to pick just a few for this newsletter. ❤️

🚗 Help! We need volunteers for the next parking fundraiser 🚗
|
We are in desperate need for volunteers for next weekend's Parking Fundraiser on Saturday 10/4 and Sunday 10/5. If we can't get enough helpers, we may have to cancel one of our hard fought parking sites and lose out on beaucoup bank for the PTA.
Please use the links below to sign up for a slot and we will forever be grateful for your 2 hours of standing around!
• Saturday 10/4: 9:00am - 8:30pm (Hardly Strictly Day 2 - Lafayette Yard) • Saturday 10/4: 9:00am - 8:30pm (Hardly Strictly Day 2 - 750 25th Avenue) • Sunday 10/5: 9:00am - 8:30pm (Hardly Strictly Day 3 - Lafayette Yard) • Sunday 10/5: 9:00am - 8:30pm (Hardly Strictly Day 3 - 750 25th Avenue)
If you can't figure out how to sign up via Konstella, feel free to email toryfrancisco@gmail.com or text him: 415-690-8679.
What would I have to do?
2-4 volunteers are needed per two-hour slot to stand around, help take Venmo payments, and guide concert goers to a parking spot. It's not rocket science. If you know of any high schoolers that have any volunteer obligations - this is a slam dunk to knock out those hours.
Wait, where is this again?
On Saturday and Sunday, we'll be running one fundraiser on the Lafayette schoolyard. At the time, we've ALSO holding this fundraiser at SFUSD's admin building at 750 25th Avenue (between Cabrillo and Balboa).

🚦Help! Stop Drop and Go also needs volunteers this week! 🚦

🍁 Support the Autumn Festival! 🍁
|
The Autumn Carnival is right around the corner and we need your help! We are working on replacing the items lost in the fire. Unfortunately all was lost and we have to start from scratch. We are asking if you are able to help replace some items shown here on this Amazon Wishlist. Every little bit helps.
Thank you!
|
This joke won't make sense once those two items are purchased from the wishlist but WORTH IT. |

Thank you for an incredible Night Market!
|
What a night! The Night Market crew would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out, brought dishes, and volunteered to make this year’s Lafayette Night Market deliciously special!
The skies cleared 🌤️in time for us to enjoy an incredible 70+ different dishes, desserts, and drinks — from savory to sweet to refreshing. The activity tables were 🔥, and it was extra special to celebrate with our playground back!
A special shout-out to Mr. K, who is always there to support with anything, from announcements to clean up duty.
One of our Lafayette parents, Robin Weir, took gorgeous photos of the event; you can view them here. If you have any photos 📸 from the event, please share them in the album as well!
Thank you again for making this such a joyful evening of food, culture, and community. We couldn’t have done it without all of you!

Thank you for your donations!
|
You may have noticed that we have a new sign up on the main gate to the yard to help us track our progress with the Annual Giving Campaign. Many thanks to everyone who has already contributed to this important school fundraiser. Let's see that temperature rise! ❤️

|
Thank you Mohammed Almaznaei!
|
And lastly, but not leastly, many thanks to Lafayette dad Mohammed Almaznaei who generously donated his time and large vehicle to pick up potted plants and flowers donated by LOOP Flowers (also part of the Lafayette community). We couldn't have done this without you!
While we are still figuring out logistics, the PTA plans to plant these beauties in the garden / at school. Stay tuned!
