Hi Families
I know, it's a wild time and it can be incredibly frustrating to feel like there is nothing you can do.
Well...we are here to help! Did you know you have the power to make REAL, immediate and actionable change in your community by jumping in to help with Lafayette's Annual Auction and Gala?? As any grassroots organizer will tell you, it's the acute, hyper-local actions that can have the greatest impact.
Speaking of impact: Our incredible team made pure magic happen last year. They brought the school over $200k, saved STEAM, and made sure our English learners and 4th and 5th graders are getting the support they need.
And even more importantly, we were part of a larger movement demonstrating the strength, vitality and importance of our public schools.
It was a huge, game-changing deal. And because of them, Lafayette has so far been fairly insulated against the challenges facing the district as a whole.
I am personally committed to keeping it that way. I hope you are, too.
If so, please join us as we get a headstart on this year's event.
As you know, roles range from big to small, onsite to work from home. We have something for everyone, and we need every single one of you.
And then join us if you can for a casual and fun evening of brainstorming and initial planning this Thursday at The Butterfly Joint.
FUN FACT: Last year we had less than 2 months from kick-off meeting to party, and we built the whole thing from scratch. This year we have tons of runway and a solid game plan to follow, so it should be CAKE. Right? ;)
