Good Morning, Lafayette Families,

Tomorrow, October 16, we will hold our first earthquake drill of the school year.

We will announce over the intercom that this is a practice drill and direct all students and staff to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On.” After staff check that everyone is participating, classes will evacuate to their designated outdoor gathering areas, just as they do during fire drills.

Teachers will review the procedures with students beforehand to help them feel prepared and understand what to expect. These drills give our school community an opportunity to practice responding calmly and safely in an emergency. Feel free to preview the Earthquake Drills Slide Deck with your student(s).

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students safe!
