Update:  For arts and crafts, we have an adult lead who will provide the activities and supplies! We just need some extra helpers to play a supporting role.

Harvest Festival is  Saturday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m! We are going to be overhauling the garden and giving it a facelift.  This will be a work party to replace the current raised beds and put in 16 new beds made possible with a grant that the head of our green team, Renee Wilkinson, got from the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District along with matching funds from Llewellyn PTA.

We need at least 20 volunteers willing to come and help with the activities we have planned for the day.  No volunteers have to stay for the entire event.  Here is a list of things we have planned for the day:

  • support students doing crafts and activities; supplies/activities provided
  • help assemble beds, move into place and fill with soil (Choose more than one time slot if you can help for more than one hour)
  • pick up doughnuts and cider and distribute at the event
  • source pumpkins and bring them to the event
  • a beekeeper from Naturehood PDX will be there to allow students to explore mason bee nests

This event needs a lot of helping hands and community members are welcome to help as well.  If you have older children or other family members visiting, this would be a great event for them to get involved.  Each job has details attached that explains what you would need to do and the time duration.  Any time you can spare will be greatly appreciated!

For more any questions about volunteering, garden needs, or donations please email Renee Wilkinson at ReneeCBWilkinson@gmail.com.
