Let the School Board Know How You Feel About School Closures! Rally and Board Meeting Tuesday Night (Oct 6th)!
Mon, Oct 5 9:17pm

Hi all, I wanted to let you know that there are things that you can do right now in response to PPS's 'rightsizing' announcement, which includes the potential closure of Sellwood Middle School next year:

1. Attend the PPS School Board General Meeting, which is being held tomorrow (Tuesday October 6th) at 6 pm at PPS HQ at 501 N. Dixon Street.

2. Attend the planned rally prior to the Board Meeting, same location, at 5 pm.

3. Send an email to the School Board and our legislators letting them know how you feel.  I found this site which has an easy to use message builder and contact finder just for this purpose: https://savepdxschools.org/take-action

4. Share this info with your network, even those who don't have children in the district.  School closures will likely impact everyone in the affected communities.

This is NOT a done deal, and we have the ability to have our voices heard and potentially impact the Board's decisions.  But there is a very short timeline until they make their decisions (the next two months) and we need to make our voices heard in support of Sellwood and our neighborhood schools if we want to have an impact.

Feel free to send me a message if you have other thoughts or ideas about what we can do.

Thanks and hope to see some of you at the rally/Board meeting!
