Hello Longfellow Community,
The next meeting for the proposed joint-use field is Thursday, January 11th at 6pm at the South Clairemont Rec Center. The purpose of the Jan. 11th meeting is to determine if the City will move forward with the joint-use grass field at Longfellow. (Details such as the material for the running track will be handled at the following meeting.) At the November 15th meeting, the Longfellow parent community was outnumbered by local community members who were not in favor of the plan for the joint-use field. There will be a vote at next week's meeting to decide if the plan will move forward, so we need a STRONG showing of support from Longfellow parents to be sure that we outnumber those against it!
- If the plan for the joint-use field does not move forward, our school will be left with a decomposed granite field area. We know from Running Club days, gravel is not ideal for running or playing!
- If the plan moves forward, our students will have a natural turf field and a walking track on campus, and P.E. will be on real grass instead of concrete!
Your support at the Jan. 11th meeting is needed to make it happen! 2-4 parents from each class are needed. Please sign up below to confirm you can be there!
