Hi friends,

Maplewood is only going to turn 75 once, and you won’t want to miss the party celebrating this major anniversary on Saturday September 12 (10am-1pm, be there!). 

Thanks to an absolute swarm of creative and committed volunteers, there is SO. MUCH. FUN. STUFF. to experience and look for at the event (free and open to all!)

Here’s a sneak peek of what you might get to enjoy as you walk back through time in Maplewood history… 

🕺 Make like a Grease cast member and learn the hand jive with Ms. Bass

🎨  Create mosaic stepping stones

Kids can create a mosaic stepping stone that will be used in the Maplewood garden.*

🎸 Take a selfie with Taylor Swift

Pop by the 2010s exhibit to step & repeat with a life-size (cardboard) T.S. 

🫟 Finger paint a mural 

Swirls, splats, and high fives all encouraged in this collaborative art piece.

☮️  Sign the peacemaker pledge

In the 2020s exhibit, and craft your own bracelet to take home.

🤗  Connect with Maplewood alumni

Stop by the alumni lounge (cafeteria) for a snack break & to connect with alumni from the 1950s through today.

☕️  Snacks! Lemonade! Coffee!

Time travel requires lots of energy. Stop by the cafeteria for free lemonade and tea donated by Raising Cane’s, coffee donated by Cherrywood Coffeehouse, and lots of donated snacks.

… and that’s just a few of the delights in store for you on September 12.

* Grownups: our version of the stepping stones are the personalized bricks in front of the school. So far, families are choosing to customize their bricks with their kids’ names, “Mustangs Forever!” or “We love Maplewood!” What will your brick say?

Los niños podrán crear una piedra de mosaico que se usará en el jardín de Maplewood.*

🎸 Tómese una selfie con Taylor Swift
Pase por la exhibición de los años 2010 para posar frente a un T.S. de tamaño real (de cartón).

🫟 Pinte con los dedos un mural
Se aceptan remolinos, salpicaduras y choca-los-cinco en esta obra de arte colaborativa.

☮️ Firme el compromiso de "peacemaker"
En la exhibición de los años 2020, y haga su propia pulsera para llevar a casa.

🤗 Conéctese con exalumnos de Maplewood
Pase por el salón de exalumnos (la cafetería) para tomar un refrigerio y conectarse con exalumnos desde los años 50 hasta hoy.

☕️ ¡Bocadillos! ¡Limonada! ¡Café!
Viajar en el tiempo requiere mucha energía. Pase por la cafetería por limonada y té gratis donados por Raising Cane's, café donado por Cherrywood Coffeehouse, y muchos bocadillos donados.
