Hola, Peacemakers,

Empecemos con algunas buenas noticias esta semana:


GRANDES LOGROS

  • ¡Superamos los 100 niños inscritos en los juegos de matemáticas anoche, así que recibimos... $1,000 dólares gratis!
  • Gracias a CampityCamp (cofundada por Casey, madre de Maplewood) y a Siete Foods por patrocinar la fiesta del 75.º aniversario de Maplewood.


POR HACER

  • Deje detergente de ropa donado en los contenedores de la entrada de la escuela. El detergente es uno de los artículos más solicitados en nuestra comunidad, y la Sra. Land se asegurará de que llegue a las familias de Maplewood que lo necesitan.


SE NECESITAN VOLUNTARIOS
 Si puede, considere ofrecer una hora de su tiempo al mes. Rinde muchísimo.

  • Los turnos son intencionalmente cortos en la Celebración del 75.º Aniversario para que usted también pueda disfrutar del evento.
  • Conviértase en Embajador(a) de Gratitud, adopte a un miembro trabajador del personal de Maplewood durante el semestre y muéstrele cuánto lo apreciamos llenándolo de detalles y sorpresas.
  • Se necesitan voluntarios para la feria del libro a partir del 14 de septiembre. A mí personalmente me encanta trabajar en las cajas registradoras: es muy divertido platicar con los niños sobre los libros que eligieron y ayudarlos a contar sus monedas.

VAMOS AL 10% DE NUESTRA META

Gracias a ustedes, hemos recaudado $18,000 dólares desde el 1 de julio, es decir, el 10% de nuestra meta de recaudación este año.

Con ese dinero, podemos contratar a tres empleados de medio tiempo durante medio año: dos interventores de contenido y una persona de apoyo en el almuerzo.

Si puede ayudarnos a que esos puestos continúen durante la segunda mitad del año escolar, done aquí, por favor y gracias.

CHISTES MALOS, ¿ALGUIEN?

Tiene dos semanas para reclamar su propio ladrillo personalizado frente a la escuela, y así formar parte permanente de ella. Las familias están eligiendo todo tipo de mensajes tiernos e inspiradores (nombres de su familia o de sus hijos, "¡Vamos, Mustangs!" o "¡Peacemakers por siempre!"). Estoy esperando con ansias que la primera familia inmortalice un chiste malo en el plantel.

Let's start with some good news this week:

 

BIG WINS

  • We flew past 100 kids registered for math games last night and so we get .... $1K in free money!

  • Thank you to CampityCamp (co-founded by Maplewood parent Casey!) and Siete Foods for sponsoring Maplewood's 75 anniversary party.

 

TO DO

  • Drop donated laundry detergent in the bins at the school entrance. Detergent is one of the most requested items in our community, and Ms. Land will make sure it gets to Maplewood families in need.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

If you are able, consider volunteering one hour of your time per month. It goes a loooong way.

  • Shifts are intentionally short at the 75th Anniversary Celebration so you get to enjoy the event, too.

  • Become a Gratitude Ambassador, adopt a hardworking Maplewood staff member for the semester. and show them how much we appreciate them by showering them with treats and other delights.

  • Book fair needs helpers starting September 14. I personally love working the registers - it's so fun to chat with the kids about what books they picked, and help them count their coins.

WE'RE AT 10% OF OUR GOAL

Thanks to you, we've raised $18,000 since July 1 - that's 10% of our fundraising goal this year.

With that in the bank, we can hire three part time staff, for half the year: two content interventionists, and one lunch support staff.

DAD JOKES, ANYONE?

You've got two weeks to claim your own personalized brick in front of the school and a permanent part of the school. Families are choosing all sorts of cute and inspirational messages (their family or kids' names, "Go Mustangs!" or "Peacemakers forever".) I'm eagerly awaiting the first family to immortalize a dad joke on campus.
