Good morning!


Lots of staffing changes announced this week.

 

🎉 Congratulations to Ms. Conley

She will be serving as Interim Principal for Maplewood beginning July 1. Here's her letter to the community.

 

🧑‍🏫 Staffing updates

At Principal's Coffee on Friday, Principal Noe shared the list of teachers who have accepted positions at other schools next year:

  • 5th Grade: Ms. Ellis
  • 4th Grade: Ms. Ead, Mr. Ludlow, and Ms. Patterson
  • 3rd Grade: Ms. Borton
  • 2nd Grade: Ms. Ward
  • 1st Grade: Ms. Lowe and Ms. Martin
  • Coach Kobe
  • Nurse Chincinga
  • Ms. Tavasoli

So much is true all at once: change is hard and necessary for growth; their departure is a loss for Maplewood, and a tremendous gift to our broader Austin community. We've got three months to show them how much we appreciate the gift of their time and talents at Maplewood, and to continue to support them in their professional growth.

 

💕 Speaking of showing the love

Make Valentine's cards for residents of Heritage Park Rehab & Nursing Center and drop them off in the school lobby collection box Monday and Tuesday.

 

📆 Calendar

  • Tuesday, February 10
    • 7:45am: Caregiver book study in Portable 11, discussing Chapters 3-4 of The Sum of Us.
    • 3:30-4:30pm: hand deliver valentines to Heritage Park residents. Meet at 806 Real Street. All ages welcome!

  • The PTA is looking for a project manager to learn the 10,000 foot perspective of Mustang Stampede to support and coordinate event leads this year and ensure continuity for next year. Get in touch with president@maplewoodelementary.com.

 

🕺 Start filling up that dance card

A few of you have asked about "that rager of a dance party" aka, The Big Mingle, aka, Parent Prom, aka, Maplewood's end of year adults-only party.

Call it what you want—but heck yeah, it's happening, and, with all the changes afoot, it will be especially joyful to be together.

🧑‍🏫 Cambios en el personal

El viernes, en la reunión de café con el director, el Director Noe dio a conocer la lista de maestros que se irán a otras escuelas el próximo año:

Elaboren tarjetas de San Valentín para los residentes del Centro de Rehabilitación y Enfermería Heritage Park y llévenlas a la caja de recolección en el vestíbulo de la escuela el lunes y martes.

Llámenla como quieran—pero SÍ, va a pasar, y con tantos cambios, será especialmente lindo estar juntos.
