Please join us at our final Parent Community In Action meeting of the school year this Thursday, May 20 @ 7pm. (Zoom meeting info can be found at the bottom of this message.)
Top item on the agenda is finding two (or more!) new Coordinators to head up the Parent CIA and the Spring Showcase fundraiser. Don't be scared! These jobs are a lot of fun and you won't be on your own. We have calendars, notes, and manuals all set up for Spring Showcase and most recurring MMS events; and Sarah Lin, veteran member of the Parent CIA, will be there to help you through it all (and I won't be far away, either!).
The Parent CIA is focused on Community, Communication, and Fundraising. As the Coordinator, you would work closely with Ms. Stoneman to facilitate the monthly parent meetings as well as all the annual events at MMS such as community service work, parent/classroom socials, Ki's lunch volunteers, and our fundraisers. Or, want to see something a little different? Make it your own! The Parent CIA is totally volunteer based with no restrictive bylaws.
The annual Spring Showcase is our largest fundraising event. The coordinator acts as a project manager while overseeing other volunteers in charge of the variety show and the fundraiser. Yes, this is a lot of work. But I can't tell you how incredibly enjoyable and rewarding it is at the same time and such a valuable service for MMS. I anticipate family volunteer hours will be returning to MMS in the fall so there should be plenty of help available!
If you are interested in being the Coordinator for the Parent CIA or the Spring Showcase fundraiser, or you're simply interested in helping out, please fill out this form and attend our Parent CIA meeting on Thursday, if you are able.
