HOPEFULLY A GIANT ENVELOPE WITH THIS IMAGE ON IT!

The 8th Annual Mariposa Beach-Clean-a-Thon has officially KICKED OFF.  It began with a hilarious skit during Friday assembly, which introduced children to the 4 animals they can choose to sponsor this year.  Which animal did your kids choose?  The dolphin?  The sea lion?  The octopus?  Or the sea turtle?  So much fun to decide.  Your family has TWO WEEKS to reach your family goal!  All tax-deductible donations will support programs at Mariposa and 10% of this fundraiser will be donated to Heal the Bay!

Mariposa's theme for this year's beach clean-a-thon, is "From the Mountains, to the Sea". Children will learn how trash can be carried from our town, into local creeks and dump right into the ocean.  Kindergarteners will clean up trash around campus, learning to take care of what they most care about.  Grades 1-6 will clean up Point Dume Beach (which will be  full of trash after this weekend's storm!).  And Grades 7-8 will hit up Medea Creek with nets, gloves and trash bags.  

Please take part in the fundraiser!  It's one of the biggest of the year and is a great opportunity for family, friends and co-workers to support our school and help Heal the Bay.  Donations are due by Tuesday, February 16.    Feel free to use the attached flyer to email to friends and family.
