OEC School Garden
This is a fun, hands-on event where all ages are welcome — parents, kids, neighbors, and grandparents!
Planned Projects Include:
-
Weeding and amending garden beds for classroom use
-
Moving and reorganizing the compost bin area
-
Beautifying the space with student-made signs, decorations.
-
Setting up a garden display board (extra help welcome if you have light carpentry/building skills)
-
Assessing and repairing the irrigation system (we’d especially love help from anyone with irrigation experience)
What to Bring (Optional):
All materials will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring labeled gloves, tools, sun protection, and a refillable water bottle.
What to Expect:
This is a great opportunity to support your child’s outdoor education and help us build a vibrant garden space for the school. Whether you stay the whole time or just drop in for an hour, your help makes a big difference!
Volunteer Sign-Up:
A sign-up will be posted on Konstella to help with setup, cleanup, and leading project stations. No experience necessary — just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
Drinks, snacks, and bagels will be provided!
Donations Welcome: If you’d like to support the garden in another way, donations are always appreciated! Items like a scarecrow, planters, seeds, flower bulbs, bird feeders or other garden supplies would help us keep the space thriving for students all year long.
We can’t wait to see you there!
