Mary Farmar Elementary

Hello Farmar Families,

May 6-10 is National Teacher Appreciation Week.  This year, the Mary Farmar PTA is celebrating with a global travel theme, “Teachers Make the World a Better Place.”

We’ve planned lots of ways for students and families to say “Thank you!” to their favorite teachers.

Here is some of what’s in store:

APPRECIATION STATION:

Stop by this spot in front of the library and leave a note in the mailbox at any time during the week.

DAILY THANKS:

Your students can express their appreciation each day of the week:

Monday, May 6:

Make or bring a flower to your teacher

Tuesday, May 7:

Bring your teacher one of their favorite things (listed on the flyer coming home with students)

Wednesday, May 8:

Draw a picture for your teacher

Thursday, May 9:

Donate school supplies (just something small is great!) for your classroom

Friday, May 10:

Make a thank you card for your teacher

MARY FARMAR’S MARKET (for Teachers/Staff only):

Contributions Needed:  This year we will continue the popular tradition of creating a mini Farmers Market for our teachers and staff on Friday, May 10.  This is a chance for students and families to bring in flowers from your garden, lemons from a tree in your yard, your delicious chocolate chip cookies, homemade soaps, etc, to give back to our teachers and show we appreciate them. The PTA hospitality committee will arrange donated items on tables in front of the school for teachers to take home. This teachers/staff-only event will take place after school Friday, once the campus is cleared of students. We created a sign-up page for items to bring, but please don’t feel limited by our list. Creativity is encouraged! In the past, families have donated handmade aprons and bookmarks, fresh lavender bunches, cakes, etc.  We are expecting 50 teachers/staff to take part this year. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/ go/4090E48A4AD2BA0FA7-farmers

Let’s make sure our teachers know how much we appreciate all they do!
