Your ideas in art are important to the community!
Yes, you and your art can be a part of the public art scene with dynamic installations at Military West & W 10th St. The Arts & Culture Commission is partnering with BUSD and Benicia Arts Now Community to provide current K-12 BUSD students opportunities to create art (literally or abstractly) in public places.
The created art is temporary and will remain in the public eye for a specific time, and after the display, the art becomes the property of the student artist(s). The first installation for any grade from any school to apply for is at Military West and W.10th Streets near the lower baseball fields.
Applications are available to all current Benicia School students (including home schooled students) either at the Benicia Unified School District office, Benicia Public Library, through the Benicia Arts Now Community or by emailing Jan Radesky (Public Art Committee): email@example.com please include “BUSD art” in the subject line.
Please read the application carefully noting the size of the installation & duration of display, stipend, judging, due dates, etc., and please note that this is not part of any school curriculum or during the school day.
We hope that you will assist your student if he/she chooses to apply and obtain the necessary materials. We look forward to working with you! Good Luck!
