An important conversation

Dear Meyerholz Families,

We are proud that the Meyerholz Elementary PTA strives to be inclusive and that we as individuals and as an organization, must reaffirm our commitment to diversity and inclusion.  Now, more than ever, we need to talk to our children about race.   We encourage you to utilize the many available resources to facilitate the conversation with your family.

Here are some resources to start:

Project Cornerstone Resources

A Parent's Guide to Preventing and Responding to Prejudice

How to Talk to Your Child About Racism

CommonSenseMedia: Using Media to Raise Anti-Racist Kids

27 Books to Help You Talk about Racism to Your Kids

Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture’s new site: Talking about Race

We want to hear your ideas and we challenge you to let us know what and how you think we can do better.
