BE COOL! WALK TO SCHOOL!
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 4 is International Walk to School Day, a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. Walking, biking or scootering to school reduces the number of cars on the streets, reduces pollution and creates safer routes for children to get to school. Please participate by:
- Walking, biking or scootering from home to school.
- Parking in the neighborhood and walking to school.
- Joining the Walking School Bus from Calabazas Park. Please print out attached Permission Form. The Walking School Bus is starting this Wednesday, Oct. 4. from the Calabazas Park parking lot on Blaney Ave. Please meet at 8:15am. The Walking School Bus will leave at 8:20am sharp.
All students who walk in to school will receive a small incentive reward.
If you are looking for a safe route to school, please see the attached map which was created by Meyerholz parents in partnership with the City of San Jose's Walk n' Roll Program. For more information about this program, please go to http://www.getstreetsmarts.org/walknroll/
