Getting To Know
Ann Nagamatsu I am the Special Programs Coordinator and English Instructional Assistant for CLIP, grades 4 and 5. This is my sixth year at Meyerholz. As part of my Special Programs Coordinator responsibilities, I help coordinate parent volunteers, school-wide assemblies, Kindness Week, Meyerholz Safety Patrol, City of San Jose Walk n' Roll Program, instructional materials for teachers and students and state testing preparation. As an English Instructional Assistant, I work with students in reading, writing and math. I enjoy working with the students the most, not just as an Instructional Assistant, but in other areas, such as Safety Patrol and assisting students who come into the office. I also am lucky to work with dedicated parent volunteers, a supportive office staff and administration, and kind, caring and hard-working teachers. In my spare time, I enjoy walking, crafting, working to my garden, watching the Golden State Warriors and spending time with my family.

Fundraiser UpdateDue to generous donations, we raised $55,000 and hit 73% of our target of $75,000. The money that the PTA raises funds programs including art and music teachers, library books, librarian, Chromebooks and iPads for distance learning, teacher grants, classroom supplies and teacher development. 100% of the funds that PTA raises pays for programs directly impacting ALL students and teachers at Meyerholz. Although we didn't hit our fundraising goal, relative to other schools in the District our PTA contribution rate is high. Thank you Meyerholz community for your generosity. If you have not yet donated, it’s never too late. The recommended amount is $150 per student at our Donations page, and remember to request for Corporate Matching. Visit our Fundraising page to find out how and what the Meyerholz Elementary PTA funds.

Yes for CUSDFor many years, CUSD has been poorly funded. State funding and local taxes have not been sufficient to prevent the district from making cuts to positions and school sites in order to balance the budget. CUSD has reached the point where future cuts might include closing school sites, cutting student programs, and increasing class sizes. Please support the CUSD parcel tax measure in the May 2021 ballot to retain our high-quality teachers and staff, ensure fiscal solvency, keep schools open, and provide programs to support our students.
