Spend your summer with PYT!
Tue, Jun 9 10:55pm

Hello Meyerholz Families,

See the message below from PYT:

At PYT we've been committed to bringing theatre to our students during Shelter in Place and will be continuing to do so this summer. Monday (6/8) we will be starting our virtual summer camps! This is a brand new type of summer camp for us where our students will be focusing on created performances, meaning that the actors will be fully creating their show! They'll work on creating the storyline, characters, and dialogue in their show, as well as costumes, backgrounds, props, etc. from materials that they have at home.
Camps are 1 week long, and we have camps through August 14th. We have full-day camps for 6-15-year-olds from 10:00 am-3:00 pm. But not all of that time is spent in front of the computer - we'll be doing activities that get the kids on their feet and moving around, as well as the independent activities that the kids will be doing each day. Our basic (flexible) schedule is as follows:

10:00 – 10:45 Physical warm up, acting skills game, introduce first independent activity

10:45 – 11:30 Working independently with instruction from teachers and opportunities to check in and ask questions when needed.

11:30 – 12:00 Sharing, feedback from instructor, synthesizing individual work as a group

12:00 – 12:30 Lunch Break

12:30 – 1:30 Re-focus game, Improv exercise, Introduce new concept, instructions for afternoon activity

1:30 – 2:15 Working independently or in small groups on activity with instruction from teachers and opportunities to ask questions when needed

2:15 – 3:00 Synthesizing information, check in, plans for tomorrow, cool down game

We also have half-day camps for 13-18-year-olds, and flexible hybrid camps for 4-6 year-olds.
We have a promotion happening right now, if you and a friend register for the same Virtual Summer Camp session and list each other in the referral section will give you a special "All the World Wide Web is our Stage" t-shirt to commemorate this unforgettable summer and a coupon code for $10 off your next PYT registration. We also have scholarships available, if needed feel free to contact me and I'll give you the needed information.
All of this information and more can be found on our website here. I myself will be teaching all of the 9-11, and 11-15-year-old camps (with the exception of Wizarding School Mockumentary - Holly is teaching that one!) and would love to work with your children!
