Mission Valley Elementary School
SCHOOL-WIDE VOLUNTEERING EVENT
Please consider volunteering your time for a wonderful cause and set an example for the kids.
Show the kids that it is important to take time out of our busy schedules to help those in need.
Please Respond by 09/19 (Thursday)
To make this event successful for our kids, we will need a minimum of 35 adult volunteers from 8AM to 11:30 AM. Can you please consider volunteering on the morning of October 22nd? Each volunteer is required to stay the entire time (we may be done earlier).
On Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019, Kids Against Hunger Fremont (https://kahfremont.org/) will be coming to Mission Valley for a packing event. Kids Against Hunger is a not for profit group run entirely by unpaid volunteers that is focused on feeding needy people and empowering kids, teen and adults to be part of the solution.
During our school-wide packing event, our students will be volunteering a small portion of their time during school hours to pack non-perishable foods. Our kindergartners and 1st graders will decorate the meals bag with caring messages. The 2nd - 6th grade students will fill the bags with nutritious dehydrated ingredients. Each bag, when mixed with water, makes six nutritious meals. The packed meals are sent to needy people, both locally and around the world. Our goal is to pack more than 15,000 meals that day!
This is an excellent opportunity to show the kids that giving back to the world can start in our backyard.
