Dear Mission Valley community,
The school year is quickly coming to an end, so it is almost time to elect the MVSA officers who will guide the Mission Valley School Association through the next school year.
I am amazed and grateful for all the new volunteers who have stepped up this year, as well as the returning volunteers who have provided a steady hand. Since students are constantly moving on, we need to continually build our volunteer network. We especially need parents who are willing to step into leadership positions for a couple of years, and then pass their knowledge to the next group of volunteers.
I encourage all MVE parents to consider running for an officer position, encouraging others to run, or signing up to lead a committee for next year.
All officer positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are up for election, but we have a particular need for a new President and Vice President. Any of these positions can be shared.
Here are the responsibilities in brief:
President: Run meetings (includes proposing budgets), act as a liaison between the MVSA and the school Principal
Vice President: Organize the annual membership drive, coordinate the parent volunteers
Treasurer: Receive and disperse funds, file tax forms
Secretary: Keep minutes of all meetings

Elections will take place at the Annual Meeting of the MVSA on Tuesday, May 12 from 7-8pm via Zoom. All MVSA members (those who have donated $25 or more in the current school year) are eligible to vote. You must be present at the meeting to run or to vote.
