Good morning Monte Gardens, here are some reminders and a note from Mr. Bennett:
Dear Monte Gardens Families
Welcome back!
I hope the holiday break went well. As we step into the New Year, I wanted to send out a few reminders.
Drop off / Pick up:
The bus drop-off zone is not a parking area for parent vehicles, including those with handicap placards. Handicap accessible parking spaces are provided elsewhere on campus for this purpose. If those designated spaces are occupied, alternate parent parking locations must be used. Under no circumstances should parent vehicles park or stage within the bus drop-off zone.
Respect for the School Supervisors helping with both walking and car traffic. If for some reason something isn’t going your way, and it upsets you. We understand, but yelling, using profanities, or even rolling of the eyes does not help. We all need to model good behavior. We are always about the safety of all students!
Attendance: Critical that kids come to school daily. If you are going to be out, please call the office so we can excuse the absence. If you plan on being out more than three days, please contact the front office for an “extended learning package” (please call early so we can prepare work). Our goal is to increase our attendance and decrease our tardies for the 2nd half of this school year. We’ll be starting an attendance challenge, “Not Late, Feels Great!”, for the month of February. More information to come soon!
Lost and Found: As you can see, if you pass by the school. We have a large collection of lost and found clothing, water bottles, etc. I encourage you to please take another look for any missing items. At the end of next week, we will be taking all the clothing to a donation center.
Pantry: We have our community pantry available to anyone who would like to come in and “shop”. Please come to the office during school hours and we will be happy to help.
- Upcoming Events:
- Spelling Bee: For this month, grades 1 - 5 will be running a Spelling Bee. The top two students per class will participate in a final Spelling Bee competition (Scripps Format) at the end of the month. (Details to follow)
-”Not Late, Feels Great!” Attendance Challenge during the month of February
-Great Kindness Challenge: January 26-30. More info to come soon
