Dear Monte Gardens Families,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent Parents Club 2026-2027 Budget Priorities Survey. We deeply appreciate the thoughtful feedback, perspectives, and care shared by our community as we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year.
We received 68 responses from student families, and several clear themes emerged around community priorities for future Parents Club funding. See survey summary results here.
Families consistently identified the following as the highest priorities for support:
• Classroom supplies and instructional support
• Student wellness and counseling services
• Academic enrichment programs
• Noon supervision and daily student support

Survey responses reflected a strong desire to prioritize programs and services that directly support students during the school day and benefit the broadest number of children across campus.
The school counselor position generated significant discussion and remains an area of both strong appreciation and important consideration. Many families shared how valuable counseling support has been for students and school climate, while others expressed concern about the long-term sustainability of funding a staffing position of this size through annual Parents Club fundraising alone. Families also suggested exploring additional funding pathways, including district support, grants, and reimbursement opportunities.
Several families also independently shared strong support for preserving the school garden program and maintaining meaningful enrichment opportunities for students.
In addition to family feedback, a teacher and staff survey is currently in progress. Input from Monte Gardens educators and staff will also help inform community support priorities and guide the development of a revised proposed budget that reflects the needs of students, classrooms, and the broader school community.
Overall, the survey reflects a community focused on balancing impactful student support with thoughtful, sustainable budgeting for the years ahead.
The Monte Gardens Parents Club Board will use this feedback to help inform a revised proposed budget for the 2026–2027 school year, which will be shared and discussed at our upcoming General Membership Meeting.
Thank you again for your engagement, partnership, and continued support of our school community.
With gratitude,
Monte Gardens Parents Club
