Carnoween Committee

The Carnoween Committee will manage all phases of the 2024/2025 school year Carnoween. Carnoween is scheduled to run from 5p to 8p on Friday, October 25, 2024. Planning for Carnoween starts no later than early September.

The Carnoween Committee shall oversee activities including but not exclusive to:

  • Coordinate and ensure appropriate volunteer coverage for the entire event.
  • Identify MGE community members and businesses for the provision of lights, tables, chairs, and music.
  • Coordinate with the Restaurant Fundraiser Coordinator for the provision of food and drink at the event (food trucks),
  • Collaborating with the Outdoor Education (Camp) Committee for an outdoor camp-specific fundraising station,
  • Managing all phases of carnival ticket sales (Parents Club fundraiser),
  • Collaborating with the Director of Fundraising (Parents Club officer) for a general Parents Club fundraising station, and 
  • Collaborate with all Room Representatives (Kinder through 5th Grade) to enlist classroom participation for the creation and volunteer staffing of games, production of prizes, and event decorations.

The Carnoween Committee Chair will oversee all phases of Carnoween. Working in collaboration with Carnoween Committee Assistants, the Committee Chair will collaborate with the Restaurant Night Coordinator for food/beverage options, the Outdoor Education (Camp) Committee for an outdoor camp-specific fundraising station, the Director of Fundraising (DBPC officer) for a general fundraising station, and all Room Representatives for the creation and staffing of individual games for the event itself. Total time commitment may vary based on number of volunteers and how Committee Chair divides responsibilities
