Walk-A-Thon Committee

The Walk-A-Thon Committee shall organize and oversee one of our largest community-building events and fund raisers. Scheduled for the morning of October 2, 2024, planning for the Walk-A-Thon begins immediately.

The event will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 that will start with a Walk-a-Thon fundraiser and bookend with Lunch on the Green. 

 

The Committee shall identify volunteers for the day of the event, gather donations from the community, parents and classrooms (via Room Representatives), and see through the planning, set up, tear down, and monitoring students the day of the event.

 

It may be beneficial and beyond appreciated for parents/guardians experienced in facilitating walk-a-thons or lunch on the greens to step up. A pre-emptive thank you! With that, the Committee shall oversee obligations including but not exclusive to;

  1. Work with the MGPC Vice President for applicable permits,
  2. Locate an area DJ for entertainment,
  3. Distribute marketing/fundraising material to school population.
  4. Coordinate day-of-event volunteers,
  5. Coordinate planning for set up, event, and takedown/clean-up duties, and
  6. Help make an event with a proven track record of fun all the better.
