Dear MDE Families & Faculty,

Per our bylaws, the MDE Executive Board will hold its annual elections during our general meeting next week: May 12th at 7pm. This is an important opportunity to select the leadership that will support our students and staff for the upcoming school year.

SLATE OF NOMINEES FOR PFC EXECUTIVE BOARD POSITIONS
We have received the following nominations for positions entering a new term:

• Co-Treasurer: Pauline Li (Running for a 2nd term)

• Parliamentarian: Ted Meriam (In addition to 2nd year as Co-President)

• Co-VP of Operations: Marjolein Gonzalez (Currently seeking a Co-VP to share this role!)

• Co-VP of Events: Sarah Brinkman (Running for a 2nd term)

CALL FOR ADDITIONAL NOMINATIONS
While we have an initial slate, nominations are still open! Per our procedures, the words "nomination" and "volunteer" are used interchangeably — you may nominate a fellow parent or volunteer yourself. We will also be accepting additional names from the floor during the meeting immediately before each vote.

ELIGIBILITY & TERMS
Requirements: Any parent or legal guardian of a student who will be enrolled at MDE is eligible to hold office.

Term Length: Positions are for a two-year term.

VOTING PROCEDURES
Uncontested Positions: If there is only one volunteer or a pre-agreed "co-position," the appointment will be approved by a voice vote.

Contested Positions: If there is more than one volunteer for a role, we will conduct a vote by written ballot during the meeting, with a simple majority determining the winner.

Who Can Vote: Voting is open to parents, guardians, and staff who are present at the meeting

PFC CHAIR POSITIONS
Chair positions are not subject to the election vote. They are appointed separately by the Executive Board. The following chair roles are currently open and looking for volunteers:

Room Parent Coordinator
Kindness Week Committee
4th Grade Parent Committee
Ed Fund
PAC
